Maya’s 3-Piece Capsule Formula

For a day at the beach, I layer this one-piece under a crisp white linen shirt, unbuttoned just enough to show the neckline. Add a wide-brimmed straw hat and flat slides, and you’re set for a coastal walk or a casual lunch. The high cut means you can even pair it with a sheer sarong tied low on the hips—it reads as a bodysuit, not a swimsuit.

Come sunset, swap the linen shirt for a lightweight oversized blazer in a neutral tone—beige or sand—and switch to raffia mules or a strappy leather slide. Add a chunky gold chain and a structured straw tote, and you’ve gone from beach to aperitivo without a full change. I always tell clients to treat the one-piece as a top: it pairs beautifully with high-waisted trousers or a flowing maxi skirt for an evening look. Just make sure the fabric is fully dry before layering to avoid any cling.
