Maya’s 3-Piece Capsule Formula

Start your day with the swimsuit alone, maybe a pair of oversized sunnies and a wide-brim hat. The square neckline is a natural jewelry ledge, so add a delicate chain or a shell pendant. By noon, throw on the knit cover-up—it’s lightweight, so it won’t add heat, but it gives you that ‘just stepped off a yacht’ ease. I always tuck the front slightly into the suit’s leg line for a casual, undone feel.

As the sun dips, swap your flip-flops for a strappy leather slide or a raffia mule. The knit cover-up can be belted with a thin leather cord at the waist to create a dress-like silhouette for dinner. I’d finish with a woven tote, a linen scarf tied at the neck, and a swipe of tinted lip balm. It’s a look that moves from poolside to aperitivo without missing a beat.
