Start with a simple base—a silk camisole or a ribbed tank in a neutral tone. Slip on the cardigan, tie it at the waist, and add a pair of tailored wide-leg trousers for a day look. I always roll the sleeves twice to expose the wrist; it’s a tiny detail that makes the whole arm look longer and more elegant.
As the sun sets, swap the trousers for a bias-cut satin skirt and add a delicate pendant necklace. Switch your sandals to a strappy heel or a pointed flat, and you’re ready for dinner. I keep a linen shirtdress in my travel kit—worn open over the cardigan, it becomes a light duster; buttoned, it’s a whole new outfit in one move.
