Maya’s 3-Piece Capsule Formula

From day to sunset, I style this one-piece like a separates piece. For a beach day, I layer it with an oversized linen shirt—unbuttoned, sleeves rolled, maybe tied at the waist for a relaxed vibe. Add a wide-brim straw hat and those strappy slides, and you’re ready for a seaside lunch. If you’re heading into town, throw on a pair of white linen trousers and a simple cardigan over the shoulders—the square neckline keeps it chic, not beachy. For sunset, swap the slides for heeled mules and add a long, sheer cover-up—it transforms the look into evening wear without changing a thing.

Accessories are where I play. A chunky gold chain over the square neckline adds instant glamour, while layered beaded necklaces keep it playful. I always tell my clients: don’t hide the straps—let them be part of the outfit. A crossbody bag in raffia or leather works for day, and a clutch for sunset. The key is to treat the one-piece as a base, not a final look. It’s the most versatile piece in a resort capsule, and with the right layers, you can wear it from a morning swim to a candlelit dinner without a second thought.
