Maya’s 3-Piece Capsule Formula
From day to sunset, this one-piece is a chameleon. For a beach-to-lunch transition, I throw a crisp white linen shirt over it, unbuttoned and knotted at the waist, with a wide-brim straw hat and flat leather slides. The square neckline peeks out just enough to look intentional, not accidental. By late afternoon, I swap the shirt for a sheer kaftan in a contrasting tone—say, a burnt orange over a forest green suit—and switch to raffia mules for an easy dinner look.
Accessories are where you inject personality. A thin gold chain that sits just above the neckline draws the eye up; a chunky resin bracelet adds a playful resort vibe. I avoid necklaces that compete with the square cut—if you’re wearing a pendant, keep it small and delicate. For evening, a low bun and oversized hoop earrings turn the whole look from beach to bar without changing a single garment.
