Protecting the Drape & Finish

In my studio, I always tell clients: this fabric is durable, but it’s not invincible. Hand wash in cold water with a gentle detergent, and never wring it out—press the water out instead. Avoid fabric softeners, as they can break down the Lycra over time. If you must use a machine, put it in a mesh bag on a delicate cycle, but honestly, hand washing is the way to go.

For packing, roll the one-piece rather than folding to prevent creases in the ribbed jersey. If it does wrinkle, steam it lightly—never iron directly on the fabric. To keep it in your capsule for years, rotate it with other pieces and don’t wear it two days in a row, especially in saltwater or chlorine. Rinse it immediately after swimming, and it’ll stay sleek and sculpted for countless summers.
