Maya’s 3-Piece Capsule Formula
From day to sunset, this piece is my go-to. In the morning, I style it with a loose linen shirt worn open, a straw fedora, and flat slide sandals—effortless for a market stroll. As the sun peaks, I ditch the shirt and add a pair of high-waisted, wide-leg linen trousers in a contrasting shade; the swimsuit becomes a bodysuit, tucked in to define the waist. For sunset cocktails, I swap the slides for raffia mules, add a gold chain belt at the hip, and throw on a long, sheer kaftan that grazes the floor.
Accessories are where you can really play. A chunky shell necklace or layered gold chains draws the eye to the square neckline, while a woven tote adds that resort texture. I always tell my clients: keep the jewelry minimal during the day, then go bolder as the light fades. And if you’re prone to chill evenings, a cropped cashmere cardigan over the shoulders—never tied around the waist—keeps the line clean and elegant.
