4. Fabric Care, Longevity & Final Capsule Edit
Welcome to Page 4 of 4 of my guide on The Sculpted One-Piece: A Cover-Up That Works Overtime. Once you have the right fit, keeping the fabric texture and elasticity pristine takes just two simple habits.

📌 Pin Look
Protecting the Drape & Finish
To keep the Lycra from losing its snap, hand-wash in cold water with a gentle detergent, and never wring it—press the water out with a towel instead. Chlorine and salt are the enemies of elasticity, so rinse immediately after swimming. I always tell my clients to pack the suit in a mesh bag to let it breathe, and if you’re traveling, roll it rather than fold it to avoid permanent creases.
For capsule wardrobe maintenance, rotate this suit with two others so it doesn’t get over-stretched. Store it flat in a drawer, away from direct sunlight, and avoid hanging it on a hook—the weight of the fabric can distort the straps. With this care, I’ve seen a well-made one-piece last five summers, and that’s the kind of longevity I’m all about.
