Protecting the Drape & Finish

To keep that matte Italian lycra looking new, always rinse in cold water immediately after salt or chlorine. I’m a stickler for hand-washing with a gentle swimwear detergent—never wring, just press the water out and lay flat to dry in the shade. The ribbed jersey can stretch if you hang it, so always fold it, never hang it.

For packing, I roll this tankini between layers of tissue paper to prevent creasing, and I always pack a second pair of bottoms for those days when you want a quick change. In your capsule wardrobe, this piece earns its keep because it’s versatile—I’ve had clients wear it with linen trousers as a top for a beach dinner. With proper care, it’ll hold its shape for years, which is exactly how I design my pieces to last.
