4. Fabric Care, Longevity & Final Capsule Edit
Welcome to Page 4 of 4 of my guide on The Sculpted Tankini: Resort Dressing With a High-Cut Leg. Once you have the right fit, keeping the fabric texture and elasticity pristine takes just two simple habits.

📌 Pin Look
Protecting the Drape & Finish
To keep your tankini looking sharp, always rinse it in cold water immediately after swimming—salt and chlorine are the enemies of Lycra. Hand wash with a gentle detergent, never wring, and lay it flat to dry in the shade. I tell my clients to avoid fabric softeners because they break down the elastic fibers, and that’s what keeps the ribbed jersey hugging your body just right.
When packing, roll your tankini instead of folding to prevent creases, and slip a sheet of tissue paper between the layers if you’re stacking it with other pieces. For your capsule wardrobe, rotate between two or three swim pieces so each gets a rest between wears. If you treat it well, this tankini will stay in your rotation for summers to come—I’ve had clients come back to me saying their 2019 piece is still going strong, and that’s the kind of longevity I love to design for.
