Protecting the Drape & Finish

Printed calf hair needs a little love. I always tell my clients to brush the fibers gently with a soft-bristle shoe brush after each wear to keep them from matting. If they get wet, let them air-dry away from heat, then brush again. For stains, use a suede eraser or a damp cloth, but never soak them. Store them in a dust bag, stuffed with tissue to hold their shape.

When packing for a trip, keep these booties in a shoe compartment or wrap them in a cotton shirt to prevent scuffs. They’re surprisingly versatile, so they can replace two solid pairs in your capsule. To keep them looking fresh, rotate them with other footwear—don’t wear them two days in a row. This way, they’ll stay as joyful as the first time you wore them.
