Tailoring the Line to Your Frame

Proportions are everything. If you’re petite, ask your tailor to take up the hem by an inch and tighten the waist darts—this keeps the high-cut leg from overwhelming your frame. For taller clients, we let the hem fall a touch lower, so the cut still peaks but doesn’t ride up. The key is balancing the torso: the square neckline shows skin, so I always recommend a high-waist brief underneath to keep the line clean.

Color tones matter too. I love a ripe tomato red or a basil green for that ‘fresh from the market’ vibe, but a creamy ivory works like a blank canvas—you can splash on citrus-toned accessories. For wider hips, choose a darker shade on the bottom half or add a sheer overskirt for movement. For straighter figures, a cinched belt at the waist creates that hourglass illusion. It’s all about framing the body’s natural architecture.

✦ Choosing Your Best Variation

  • Monochrome Onyx & Espresso: Creates the longest, sleekest runway column with zero visual interruption.
  • Warm Ivory & Champagne Bronze: Softens angular shoulders and catches golden-hour light beautifully.
  • Structured Contrast Trim: Draws the eye directly to the collarbone and waist.
