Maya’s 3-Piece Capsule Formula

Day one, keep it minimal: the one-piece, a sheer linen shirt unbuttoned over it, and a pair of strappy leather slides. I’d add a woven straw tote and oversized sunglasses—the kind that cover half your face. The linen shirt adds movement and a little mystery, while the slides keep your feet grounded for a beach walk or a casual lunch. Don’t overthink it; the suit is doing the heavy lifting.

As the sun starts to dip, swap the slides for a raffia mule with a low block heel—still easy to walk in, but it instantly dresses up the look. Add a long gold chain necklace that hits just below the collarbone, and a stack of thin gold bangles. The key is to let the high-cut leg stay visible; don’t hide it under a sarong. Instead, tie a lightweight cotton sarong low on your hips, knotting it at the side, so the leg line remains the focal point.
